Primary Process Upgrade for Imperial Lao Tobacco Limited

Imperial Lao Tobacco Limited is a subsidiary of British tobacco giant Imperial Tobacco, which accounts for around 90% of all cigarettes sold in Laos and is the major production base of Imperial tobacco in Southeast Asia. The company has both green leaf threshing line and primary processing line to process major local cropped tobaccos for domestic and oversea customer. In 2009, the existing GLT and primary facility was found unable to support the sustainable development of the company as the condition of existing second hand equipment dramatically deteriorated. The company contacted all major tobacco machinery suppliers of the world. After comparing the proposals and factory study of all suppliers, the company awarded the contracts of upgrading both the GLT and primary processing line to KSEC with strict technical requirement as Imperial tobacco standard. KSEC took it seriously and accomplished the design and equipment manufacturing completely conformed to Imperial tobacco standard. Within a short period, the upgrading of primary processing line was accomplished and the leading position of company in Lao tobacco industry was strengthen and secured.
